Escapes Newsletter
One of my biggest digital efforts is working on the Escapes Newsletter. Each week Rachel Schnalzer breaks down travel tips — which are predominantly virtual these COVID-19 days — for our readers to use and draw their own travel inspiration from. I art directed the newsletter logo that was masterfully done by Natalie Avalos (aka @threeologie on Instagram). I art direct all the art in each issue and anything else Escapes may need (i.e. promos or sign up page images).

8 to 3 Newsletter
The 8 to 3 newsletter updates parents on all things education-related. Hosted by Sonja Sharp, a reporter at The Times, I wanted to offer up a logo that was child-like, but not too flippant. I reached out to Subin Yang, who found a nice balance of the two for the logo. Though I did ask for her to illustrate Sonja and her son to bring in some personality at the end of each newsletter to remind parents that they’re getting news every week from not only the Los Angeles Times, but also a fellow parent.
